Oakley Pro/AM Golf In Carolina

Ballantyne Resort, NC - 5/14/07

This was the 3rd annual Oakley Carolina’s Pro/Am golf tournament at Ballantyne Resort where we had 110 players that were blown away with the Oakley presence. Check-in began at 8AM where we handed out goodie bags to each player. The Rolling O Lab stoked out local RX and Sporting Goods customers with tours through the lab all day while the tournament was going on.

After 18 holes of incredibly competitive golf, everyone headed back to the Rolling O Lab for dinner, awards and raffle drawings. Some of the raffle drawings consisted of awesome sports memorabilia from Charlotte Bobcats, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, Oakley athlete James Bubba Stewart MX goggle. Props also should go out to local auto dealer, Young Ford, for contributing a Ford Mustang and Foothill Motorsports with a Jet ski for any potential hole in one.

Each year it gets tougher and tougher to top what was done the year before, but this year with the addition of the Rolling O Lab it was far and away the best event we’ve ever had. One local pro, Todd Burrell’s comments were,  “This was my third year to play in this tournament and this year by far blows away the other years.”

Congratulations to winners, Cory Kaufman, Professional Golf Pro Hilton Head and Alan Lloyd, amateur with Omega Sports in Greensboro, NC.

The Rolling O Lab’s location took up an entire corner of the parking lot directly outside of the pro shop with tables with Oakley tents, Oakley beer, a killer barbeque set up and music that added an element we have not had in the past. 

The presentations made in the lab had a huge impact on all who visited. Our accounts have been told for years about our optics, but to see the presentation confirmed our position for many and changed the opinions others. It was a great day thanks to the hard work of the Rolling O Lab Crew, Al Janc for his tremendous help in organizing the event and coming up with the $5,000 cash purse, Ballantyne Resort, Jersey Mike’s, Sweetwater Brewery and the Carolinas Sales Team.
