Dungey Takes 3rd Season Win
Seattle, WA - 4/28/08
Oakley’s Ryan Dungey, won the main event and finished second overall in the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class.Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class race, Bobby Kiniry, won the $1,000 Progressive Holeshot Award. Oakley star Ryan Dungey followed closely in second while Lawrence, who came into tonight’s race with a six-point lead over Dungey, started in fourth place. Once Ryan was in the lead he used his hard training and superior talent to put the championship out of mind and just focus on the task at hand “the race”. Ryan needed this win but needed a little help from the competition to occupy a few positions between himself and Lawrence. Unfortunately the Oakley rider did his part but fell short of the others doing there’s. Ryan ended up the series just 3 point’s shy of the Championship. Jason Lawrence rode to the first AMA Supercross Lites championship of his career. Broc Hepler finished in third place. The win for Dungey was his third of the season.
“I was really happy with the way I rode tonight,” said Dungy. “I know where I made some mistakes this year, and I am going to fix them. I learned a lot this year.
