It started off as just another winter in Shredlandia. We started to wonder. What if we could make a movie that any of our friends could be a part of. What if, instead of having to perform for a camera, we rode for ourselves, and the cameras were just there to document it all? What if in the end we told a story about the places we traveled to, the things we found there, and the characters we met and rode with along the way.
Then we placed an ad in the paper. It read: “We’re heli-boarding in New Zealand, interior B.C. and Alaska. We’re going to ride powder in Japan, a quarterpipe in Whistler, rails in New York, the sickest park ever in Aspen, and every natural feature you could imagine in Jackson Hole. Want to be in a movie? Come hang out with us. Spring Break 2005 — it’s gonna be a party.”
Some came out and rode. Some came and hung out. Other people had to do laundry. This is the story of the people who answered the ad.
Shot on Super 35mm and 16mm the film features some of the world’s top snowboarders including: Travis Rice, JJ Thomas, Zach Leach, Tyler Lepore, Terje Haakonsen, Bryan Iguchi, Andy Finch, Kyle Clancy, Eero Ettala and Shaun White on location in New Zealand, Japan, Aspen, Jackson Hole, Alaska and Whistler/Blackcomb among others.
